20th Century British School, 'Now, Don't Go Too Far,' Edith Gain
A charming 20th Century British School, post impressionist, depicting a day out by the river. The name of this painting appears on the reverse
'Now don't go too far,' and sums up all our childhoods. Three children in shorts paddle in a shallow stream while two mums sit on the bank no doubt with a thermos of tea and some Custard Creams. Fabulous sun-soaked colours throughout, richly painted with strong blocky brush strokes.
