Large, 1950's, 'Russian Blacksmith', Iskam Viktor Vassilyevich
Impressive 1950's, Russian, male portrait by Soviet artist Iskam Viktor Vassilyevich (1927 - 2010).
Viktor Iskam was born January 1, 1927, his father was a blacksmith in the village of Staraya Poltavka, Stalingrad.
In 1944 he graduated with honors from high school and was sent to study at the Odessa Marine Institute.
Six months later, Victor decided to change his profession and enrolled at Odessa Art School, where he studied from 1945 to 1948.
From 1948 to 1954 he studied at the Leningrad Institute of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture under the guidance of Rudolf Frentz. His graduation painting "The feat of Captain Rodionov" can be seen at the Military Historical Museum of Artillery, Engineers and Signal Corps in St. Petersburg.
