About the Artist

Carl Gösta Lindqvist, born 1928 in Stockholm, is a Swedish painter and graphic artist.

Lindqvist was educated at the Essem school in Malmö and the Technical School in the early 1950s. He then undertook study trips to Paris, Italy and Spain. He has worked as a teacher at Målarskolan Forum 1962-1965 and participated in several solo and group exhibitions at, among others, the National Museum (Young cartoonists 1952, Swedish color graphics 1953), in Malmö, Lund, Stockholm, and with Skåne Art Association, Swedish General Art Association, The Artists' Cooperation Organization. Lindqvist is represented at Moderna Museet, Regionmuseet Kristianstad, Borås Konstmuseum, Helsingborgs Stadsmuseum, Skissernas Museum and has carried out public works in, for example, Vårby (Ormen Långe), business center at Borgmästaregården and windows in the chapel in Fosie in Malmö. Active in Österlen, he is a member of Östra Skåne's artists' guild (ÖSKG) and KRO.

Lindqvist paints in oil, acrylic and egg oil tempera and has worked as a graphic artist. He paints landscapes, still lifes and abstract images and always to classical music, which is close to him, and his favourite instrument the violin reappears time and time again in his painting.
