Large, Contemporary Oil on Board, 'Tiger Lilies', Deborah Windsor.
A glass jug of satsuma coloured, tiger lilies and pink carnations jostles with a background of graphic triangles in hues of blue, steel, black and terracotta. Delightful small vases of pink and white daisies. A whoosh of over painted, baby pink forms the cloth whilst a splay of cyclamen breaks the frame.
About the Artist
Deborah Windsor lives on the edge of Shap Fell in Cumbria in a Victorian Workhouse where she has adapted the bakery to create a stunning studio.
Following in the footsteps of her artist mother, Windsor is inspired by groupings of domestic objects, flowers and ceramics. Largely working in oils, Windsor delights in applying layer upon layer, creating texture using wet on wet and scraping techniques.
Her works are peppered with references to Matisse and the Scottish colourists.
