Large, oil painting on canvas by Henri Tambour (1916-1986).

Two fishermen in French workwear blues struggle up the harbour with their catch. The lady has her back to us and is wearing the high point of Brittany fashion, the coiffe, or headdress—this particular striking lace coiffe is that of the area around Pont-l’Abbé.

In the background the fishing boat is moored to the quay. A slant of golden sunshine transverses this impressionist canvas, illuminating the lighthouse and red roof tops across the bay.
