Mid-century painting, 'Rollerskating,' Mary Beresford Williams.

Four children on their Devon holidays roller-skate along a coastal road. There is so much charm in this painting, as indeed in all of William's paintings. A memory of the Famous Five, Enid Blyton and Ladybird books, Uncle Quentin, Aunt Fanny and lashings of ginger beer.
